Lesson 54 of 63
Journey E, part 10: The compliance officer closes the finding, completes the audit and downloads the evidence pack
What you will be able to do
The HR director has recorded the fix and marked the finding resolved. In this part the compliance officer checks it and closes it, downloads the evidence pack, which holds every sealed proof of the audit in one file, and completes the audit. Completing takes a final snapshot of the readiness score.
Before you start
- The earlier parts of Journey E are done.
- Part 9 is done: the owner marked the finding resolved, and you have seen the fix.
- You are signed in as the compliance officer.
Steps
- 1
Open the audit on the Readiness step
Open the audit from the Audit Hub. It resumes on Readiness. The score, the coverage by risk level, anything that still needs attention, the findings and the evidence pack are all on this one screen.
- 2
Find the finding
Scroll to Findings and corrective actions. The finding raised in part 6 is listed with its owner, its fix-by date and a status box. The box now says Resolved: the HR director set that in part 9.
- 3
Set the finding to Closed
You have looked at the shared payroll folder and the confirmations are there. Open the status box and choose Closed. Only the people who run the audit can close a finding. The other choices are Open, In remediation, Resolved and Risk accepted. The change is saved at once.
- Select Resolved
- Choose Closed
- 4
Read the evidence pack line
Under the findings, Evidence pack counts the records sealed for this audit: the policy documents, frozen when the mapping was confirmed, and each proof you accepted. The link open the Evidence Vault shows the same records in the vault.

- 5
Select Download ZIP
Select Download ZIP. One file is saved to your downloads folder, named audit evidence pack. It contains the documents and proofs with their fingerprints. This is what you hand to an auditor who asks for the evidence behind the audit.
- Select Download ZIP
- 6
Select Complete audit and confirm
Select Complete audit. A box asks you to confirm: the final readiness score is recorded as it stands, and any request still open stays flagged. Select Confirm.
- Select Complete audit
- Select Confirm
- 7
Check the Audit Hub
You are back in the Audit Hub. Third quarter 2026 internal compliance review is listed as Completed with its final readiness score, and the tile at the top shows the company's audit readiness. Because the audit is quarterly, the next run will start with the same mapping and the same assignees.
- 8
See the sealed records in the Evidence Vault
Select Evidence Vault in the left menu. The audit's records are here: the frozen policy documents, the accepted proofs, and the completed audit itself, each sealed. The Source column shows they came from the Audit Hub.
- Select Evidence Vault
How to check it worked
The finding shows Closed, a file named audit evidence pack has been downloaded, and the Audit Hub lists the audit as Completed with its readiness score.
Common mistakes
- Closing a finding because its owner says it is fixed. Resolved is the owner's word; Closed is yours, after you have seen the fix.
- Completing the audit with requests still open and expecting them to disappear. Open requests stay flagged on the completed audit.
- Completing with answers still unreviewed. They stay flagged on the completed audit, and the score is recorded as it stands.

- A.Open and Closed only
- B.Open, In remediation, Resolved, Risk accepted and Closed
- C.Draft and Final
Show answer
