Getting started

Course 1

Getting started with ComplianceOS

Your first hours in ComplianceOS. You will sign in and out, find your way around the left menu, the top bar and the side panels, read the organisation Dashboard and the dashboard of one entity, understand the compliance score and which modules count, find the work waiting for you in My Actions and Approvals, keep up with notifications, search and use keyboard shortcuts, switch between English and Arabic, look after your own account, use the built-in Help and guided tours, see what a person with a narrower role sees, and finally follow one record from the module where it is created to the bell, the dashboard, My Actions and the audit log.

How it all fits together: end-to-end journeys

The other courses teach each screen. This course teaches how work flows between modules and people. It follows six pieces of business from start to finish at the fictional retailer Meridian Souq, with the right person doing each part: a new supplier, a customer sale, an employee, a personal data incident, an audit, and the running of the group. At each hand-off you see the effect appear for the next person: the record, the task in their list, the deadline in the calendar, the risk in the register, the entry in the ledger, the evidence in the vault and the line in the audit log. Where two modules are not linked today, the lesson says so and shows the hand-off a person has to make.

Course 2

Approvals, evidence and the audit trail

The shared mechanics every module relies on. One person prepares a record and a second person decides it in the Approvals inbox: you will send a privacy policy and a data protection impact assessment, track, withdraw, fix and resubmit them, reject and approve as the second person, delegate approvals while away and decide as a deputy. Then you will keep proof in the Evidence Vault, work with documents and comments in the Document Library, and read the audit log to see who did what and when. The lessons are recorded in order in one company, so each builds on the one before, and the last lesson follows a single record through all of it.

Administration

Course 3

Administration: organisation, people and access

How administrators shape the organisation in ComplianceOS: register and edit legal entities, build the structure of units and departments, invite people, give them roles in the right place, get privileged access approved by a second administrator, arrange cover, and review who still needs what. The last two lessons follow one grant through the product and show what the person sees.

Course 4

Administration: approval rules, connectors, imports and settings

Everything an organisation administrator sets up and looks after. You will read, create, test, edit and remove approval policies, including a condition, two steps and a rule for one entity. You will hand your approvals to a deputy, see what people without the permission see, tour the accounting connectors and their set-up forms, issue and revoke API keys, set up a webhook endpoint, bring employees, tax transactions, counterparties, accounts and bank statements in from files, and go through every settings page an administrator owns. The closing lesson shows a rule and a setting taking effect in other modules.

Course 20

More tools: excise tax, government portals, catch-up, the policy engine, workflows and the trust badge

This course covers the tools that the other courses do not. In Excise Tax you register excise products taxed as a percentage, per litre or per unit, bring products and stock movements in from spreadsheets, add a designated zone, record imports, production, sales, transfers and disposals, reverse a movement recorded in error, compute the excise return and read its breakdown, have a second person record that it was filed, and reopen a filed return to correct it. In Government Portals you keep a register of the authority websites you file on and of every filing and receipt. Catch-up bookkeeping brings earlier months of tax transactions up to date, and the tax manager signs off the AI's classifications. In the Policy Engine you write a check in plain English, run it and work its alerts. Workflows runs an AI task in the background and keeps a trace of what it did. The Trust Badge publishes a public page with a few facts from your records. The course also shows the Contributors page, what a read-only auditor and a person without access see, and how the work connects to the Compliance Calendar, the Evidence Vault, the Filing Tracker and the audit log. Nothing in these lessons is sent to a tax authority or to any government portal: the app keeps the record, and you file on the authority's own website.

Tax

Course 8

VAT: transactions, returns, filing and groups

How to do a quarter's value added tax work in ComplianceOS from start to finish. You set up the entity's VAT details, bring in sales and purchases by import and by hand, classify them, correct them, attach their documents and record a credit note, review and approve what the app proposed, compute the VAT return and read every box, tie it to its workpaper, and then file it with Submit and Lock as the checker, so that the period is frozen and the deadline closes. The course also covers classification rules, the vendor directory, who may file under the approval policy, corrections after filing, VAT groups and their consolidated return, and how the VAT work shows up in the calendar, the Evidence Vault and sanctions screening. The app prepares the figures and keeps the record; you still file the return yourself on the tax authority's portal.

Course 9

Corporate tax: set-up, related parties, the return, filing and free zones

How to do the whole UAE corporate tax (CT) job for an entity in ComplianceOS, screen by screen. You import a year's transactions, set up counterparties and the tax profile, record connected persons, classify and review, check Small Business Relief, record related-party transactions with their transfer-pricing documents and tools, track an advance pricing agreement, record a transitional election, confirm foreign tax credits, form a tax group and tour the other group structure tools, compute the return and read every part of it, have it approved and locked by a second person, follow it in the Filing Tracker, and correct it with a voluntary disclosure. Four lessons then cover a free zone company: its licence, its substance assessment and its review, and its Qualifying Free Zone Person status. The course ends with the ledger side of the return, AI-drafted transfer-pricing files and a lesson on how corporate tax connects to the rest of ComplianceOS. Most lessons are done by the Tax manager. The steps that need a second person are recorded by that person: the Compliance officer approves and locks the return, makes the voluntary disclosure, reviews the substance assessment and signs off the AI-drafted file, and the Finance manager shows the ledger figures the return starts from. The What-If simulation is being rebuilt and is not covered.

Course 18

Customs declarations: imports and the VAT return

How a company that imports goods keeps its customs records in ComplianceOS. You find the Customs Declarations screen inside Tax Intelligence, record a declaration by hand, bring in a whole statement of imports from a file, correct a declaration and record an adjustment, deal with duplicates and deletions, and then follow the figures into boxes 6, 7 and 10 of the VAT return. The course also shows what a read-only auditor and a member of staff without tax access see, and how the customs work connects to the Compliance Calendar, the Evidence Vault and sanctions screening. Nothing in these lessons is sent to a customs authority or to the tax authority: the app keeps the record and prepares the figures, and you file on the authority's own portal.

Finance

Course 10

Accounting, bills, bank and reports

How to keep the books for one company in ComplianceOS, from an empty company to a set of financial statements: set up the chart of accounts and the posting accounts, record, verify and pay supplier bills, import and reconcile a bank statement, prepare and approve journal entries, register fixed assets, close and lock accounting periods, run the financial reports, and bring tax activity into the ledger. The accountant prepares; the finance manager approves, closes periods and runs the reports.

Data protection (PDPL)

Course 5

PDPL essentials: register, data map, assessments and transfers

How to run the core of a privacy programme under the UAE Personal Data Protection Law in ComplianceOS: set the regime and the Data Protection Officer, keep the record of processing activities, map the systems and suppliers that hold personal data, run impact assessments through approval, and record, assess and approve cross-border transfers. Lessons are recorded in order in one demo company, so each builds on the records made before it, and the lessons for the approver, the administrator and the auditor show the same records through their eyes.

Course 6

PDPL: requests, erasure, consent and complaints

How to receive and answer requests from people about their personal data, in person, by phone and through a public page in English and Arabic; how to give each request an owner and keep its deadline; how to erase data safely with a plan, a second person's approval and legal holds; how to keep consent and the suppression list accurate; and how to track complaints and regulator letters in ComplianceOS. Every screen, field and button of these six sections of Data Protection is covered, and the closing lessons show where this work appears in the rest of ComplianceOS.

Course 7

PDPL: vendors, breaches, policies and training

How to assess the suppliers that handle personal data for you, from the questionnaire library to an approved risk tier; how to log a personal data breach, follow its deadline and prepare, approve and record the notices it requires in English and Arabic; how to write, review and publish privacy policies; how to run acknowledgement and training campaigns and follow their completion; and how every member of staff completes their own privacy tasks. The closing lessons show how this work appears in Contracts, the Risk Register and the Evidence Vault.

Financial crime

Course 11

Sanctions screening, AML and beneficial owners

How to use the AML/CFT hub and the UBO Register in ComplianceOS, screen by screen. You will check that the sanctions lists are current, screen suppliers and customers, review a possible match, record the business risk assessment and customer due diligence, store identity documents and see how long they are kept, work transaction alerts and draft a suspicious activity report, run adverse media and network checks, keep the register of beneficial owners and record its filing, and download the records an auditor asks for. Every name in the course is invented. The sanctions lists in the example are the real public lists, so list entries appear on screen as the product shows them.

Risk, regulatory and group

Course 12

Risk register, calendar, regulatory alerts and the group view

How to keep the risk register current, read the heat map, track deadlines and compliance tasks, follow regulatory updates, check which frameworks apply, produce audit-ready reports, catch early warnings and read the organisation-wide group view in ComplianceOS. Most lessons are for the compliance officer; three are for the administrator, who signs off tasks as the second person, builds custom frameworks and sees the whole group; and one shows what a colleague without these rights sees.

Contracts

Course 13

Contracts and disputes

How the legal team uses ComplianceOS to upload contracts and check what the analysis read from them, correct the key details and link the counterparty to its vendor record, read the clause findings and track obligations, stay ahead of renewals, assign and record reviews, act on several contracts at once, compare a contract with standard terms, link amendments, draft a new contract with the AI agent and have it approved, and then record, evidence, escalate and resolve a dispute with a tax or regulatory authority and set its deadline reminders. The closing lessons show, on the live screens, how contracts and disputes feed the vendor directory, sanctions screening, the risk register, the compliance calendar, the Evidence Vault, notifications and My Actions.

Workforce

Course 14

Workforce: employees, documents, WPS, Emiratisation and gratuity

How the HR team keeps the employee register in ComplianceOS. The course starts with an almost empty register and builds it up: adding employees by hand and from a file, finding and correcting records, recording visas, Emirates IDs, labour cards and passports and following up the ones about to expire, setting up the wage protection system and preparing the monthly salary file, recording what was paid, following the Emiratisation rate against its target, estimating end-of-service gratuity, recording a leaver, undoing a termination, paying the final gratuity, and changing the module's settings. Four short lessons show what an administrator, an auditor, an employee and a person without access see. The last three lessons follow the module's connections to the rest of the app. Every person, number and bank detail shown is invented.

ESG

Course 15

ESG reporting: frameworks, data and disclosures

How to run a year of ESG (environmental, social and governance) reporting in ComplianceOS, screen by screen: set up the entity, see which rules apply, assign the reporting frameworks, decide which topics matter, record energy, fuel, water, waste and refrigerant by hand, by spreadsheet and from a bill, work through Scope 3, set targets, record offsets, gather the social and governance figures, attach evidence, have a second person verify and approve, produce and issue the disclosure report, use the insights and rating agency exports, and manage who can do what.

Audit

Course 16

Audit Hub: running an audit from start to finish

How to run a whole audit in ComplianceOS: set the scope, turn your policy and checklist into requests for proof, assign them to people across the organisation, review and accept their answers, test samples, raise and follow up findings, give an external auditor read-only access, complete the audit and hand over the evidence pack. The course follows one audit of store cash and stock at Meridian Souq Trading LLC, and shows each person's side of it.

AI assistant

Course 19

The AI assistant and agent mode

How to work with the three kinds of AI in ComplianceOS, and how to check each of them. The Compliance Assistant answers questions about UAE compliance and about the company's own records, reads each module only with the asker's own permissions, and changes nothing. Agent mode does work: the Tax Partner Agent classifies transactions, raises questions for people, keeps a memory and records requests, within the permissions of the person who instructs it and the autonomy that person sets, and stops for approval where it is told to. Workflows and the AI features inside modules draft and analyse; a second person approves what becomes a record. The course begins by creating a small set of known records, so that every answer can be checked, and it checks every answer shown on the live screens against those records, including the references the assistant marks as not verified against its knowledge base. Its rule throughout: an answer, a reply or a summary is a report, and the record is on the module's own screen.

AI team

Course 21

The AI team

ComplianceOS has a team of AI agents, each with a name and a job: Zayed, the compliance lead, plans the work; Hind prepares VAT; Majid handles corporate tax; Nasser, financial crime; Samira, data protection; and others. They are AI agents, not people. Each one works through ComplianceOS with its own key and only the permissions it was given, on the entities it has been let onto. They prepare work and ask a person whenever a decision is needed: a plan runs only after a person approves it, a checkpoint waits for the person it belongs to, and a return the agents prepare is signed off and filed by a person. The course follows the tax manager of Meridian Souq Trading LLC through the third-quarter VAT return, from a first question to the agents to the draft return that waits for her sign-off, and then shows the administrator's side: letting an agent onto an entity, the agents' names and style, their schedules, standing guidance, who sees the conversations, and the monthly AI budget. Answers from the agents vary from one run to the next; the course says what to look for rather than the exact words.

Course 22

The AI team at work

Course 21 introduced the AI team. This course follows the agents through a working month at Meridian Souq Group, one job per lesson. Each agent is an AI agent, not a person: it works through ComplianceOS with its own key, only the permissions it was given and only on the companies it has been let onto, and a person checks and approves what matters. Work starts in three ways, all shown here: you write to an agent in the chat; something happens in the app, such as a licence registered, a data subject request logged or a regulatory alert, and the right agent starts by itself; or an agent stops to ask you a question or for a go-ahead before a change. While an agent works you can follow its to-do list and, afterwards, every step it took. You can hand it a file, send it an urgent note with Interrupt, or Stop it, and it hands over what it has done. Answers from the agents vary from one run to the next; the lessons say what to look for rather than the exact words. The company and every figure are fictional.
