Jamal prepares October's salary file

What you will be able to do

This lesson is for the HR director. Salaries in the UAE are paid through the Wage Protection System, WPS, with a salary information file, the SIF, that the bank checks. Jamal, the AI agent for the workforce, previews the file, finds what would make the bank reject it, asks you for the missing details and generates the file for you to check. You will ask Jamal for October's file, answer its question and approve its go-aheads.

Before you start

  • You are signed in as the HR director of Meridian Souq Trading LLC.
  • The WPS employer details and the employees' bank details are under Workforce; a few employees have a missing or wrong detail.

    Ask Jamal for the salary file

    In the AI team's Chat for Meridian Souq Trading LLC, type @ and pick Jamal, the workforce agent, and type: please prepare the October 2026 salary information file for Meridian Souq Trading LLC so I can check it before it goes to the bank.

    Read Jamal's to-do list

    Jamal writes its to-do list: preview the October file, sort out what the preview finds, generate the file, and check it. The line Now: says what it is doing.

    Answer Jamal's question and go-aheads

    The preview finds two employees the bank would reject: one IBAN and one routing code are missing. Jamal asks for them in one question, with why each is needed. Type the details in the box under the question and select Send. Then each change comes as a go-ahead: an employee number, the routing code, the IBAN, and finally generating the October file. Check each and select Approve.

    Read Jamal's answer

    Jamal's green Answer says the October file is generated and ready for you to check: 15 employees, all paid for the full month, 212,200 dirhams in total, basic salary plus allowances as you confirmed. It lists the three records it updated from your answers, after which the preview passed. Sending the file to the bank stays with you, and generating October again would void this file. One point is still open: the new employee number's record is missing a few details.

    Check the file in Workforce

    In the left menu, open Workforce and the tab WPS Payment Records. Under Salary Information Files, the October file is listed with its 15 employees and total, status Generated. You check it and send it to the bank.

How to check it worked

Workforce, WPS shows October's salary file generated once, with the total Jamal reports. Jamal's answer lists what it fixed with your go-ahead and what you should check before the file goes to the bank.

Common mistakes

  • Sending the file to the bank without checking it. Jamal prepares it; you send it.
  • Guessing a missing IBAN. Give the correct one from the employee's bank letter, or leave that employee out and say so.
