  6. 6The compliance score and which modules countUnderstand how the overall compliance score is worked out, read the line Based on N of M modules, and choose which modules count for an entity and where the risk levels start.7 min
  7. 7My Actions: the work that is waiting for youUse My Actions to see the open work assigned to you in every module and entity, widen the list to everything you can see, narrow it down with the filters, and open an item in the module where the work is done.7 min
  8. 8The Approvals inbox at a glanceKnow what the Approvals inbox is for, read a request that is waiting for your decision, open the record behind it, and find the requests that you sent yourself. Deciding a request is covered step by step in the course on approvals, evidence and the audit trail.5 min
  9. 9Notifications: the bell and the notification centreUse the bell to see what has happened in the entity you are working in, open the notification centre, narrow the list down, and open the record a notification is about.6 min
  10. 10Notification settings: who is told, how and whenFind the settings that decide where alerts go. You will read the Notifications page of an entity, see what muting a category does, read the Module Configuration and Preferences tabs, change the reminder timing, and see which alert settings belong to the whole organisation.8 min
  11. 11Search and keyboard shortcutsJump straight to any page with Search, open it from the keyboard, close it with Escape, and learn the keyboard shortcuts that take you to the pages you use most.6 min
  12. 12Switch between English and ArabicSwitch the whole screen from English to Arabic and back with one button, and know what changes, what stays as it was typed, and how the right-to-left layout is arranged.5 min
  13. 13Your account: profile, roles, name and passwordFind your own account details, read which roles you hold and where, change the name your colleagues see, know how to change your password, and find Entity settings and the Audit log in your account menu.7 min
  14. 14Help, guides and guided toursUse the built-in Help to find out what a module does and where to start for your role, search the help, read a step-by-step guide, and follow a guided tour that points at the screen for you.7 min
  15. 15What you see with a role that has less accessUnderstand why two people see different screens. This lesson signs in as an employee with the self-service role and shows the shorter menu, the reduced dashboard, the employee's own record, and the message you get when a page needs a permission you do not hold.6 min
  16. 16How this connects: one record, seen everywhereSee how the parts of this course fit together. One person logs a record in a module and assigns it to a colleague. You then follow that single record to the colleague's bell, dashboard, My Actions and the audit log.8 min

How this connects to the rest of ComplianceOS

  • Every module

The left menu, the breadcrumb, the entity switcher, the section list and the Insights panel work the same way in every module. Learn them once here.

  • Data Protection

A data subject request logged in Data Protection raises a notification on the bell, is counted on the entity dashboard under today's tasks and Needs Attention, and appears in My Actions for the person it is assigned to.

  • Risk Register

An open risk appears in My Actions as a Risk Treatment for the person named as its owner.

  • Calendar

Deadlines in the Compliance Calendar feed the Upcoming Deadlines tile and panel and the Next Deadline card on the entity dashboard, and the entity cards on the organisation Dashboard.

  • Approvals

A record that needs a second person, such as a privacy policy submitted for publication, appears in the Approvals inbox of the people allowed to decide it, with a count beside Approvals in the left menu.

  • Access control

What you see in the left menu, in Search and in the account menu depends on the roles your access administrators gave you for each entity. Your roles are listed on your Profile card.

  • Audit log

Actions such as logging and assigning a request, assigning a framework or changing what the compliance score covers are written to the audit log with the time and the person.

  • Notifications settings

The alert address, reminder timing and module rows on an entity's Notifications page decide who is told about deadlines for that entity; they are shared settings, not personal ones.
